Wine Testing

We are offering a wide range of testing services to the wine industry. This includes: EU export wine testing for WESC, Total Alcohol, pre and post bottling checks, nutritional labelling, trace elements and heavy metals, multi-residue pesticide screens and microbiological services.

EU Export Wine Testing

Cawthron Laboratory Services are an NZFSA approved EU wine testing laboratory, Please see the EU Export Information sheet on the downloads page for more details on how this service operates in conjunction with the Wine Export Certification Service (WECS).

Other Wine Testing

Cawthron is also offering a range of Post and Pre bottling wine chemistry and microbiological testing. Including: Sugar profiles, Glucose/ fructose, Sorbic Acid, Malic Acid, Lactic acid, Total & Free SO2, TA, Brix & pH. Sample Drop off:

Samples can be couriered overnight to our laboratory at 98 Halifax Street East, Nelson, or alternatively dropped off at either our Nelson or Blenheim laboratories. Samples dropped off at our Blenheim laboratory at Grove Town Park during week days will be transferred to our Nelson laboratory free of charge.
