Leigh Howarth
Marine Ecologist
Role at Cawthron
Leigh is a marine ecologist within the Aquaculture and Environment team at Cawthron. His research is highly applied, multi-disciplinary, and aims to improve sustainable development of aquatic resources. To date, he has worked throughout Europe, North America, and the Pacific, and has formed close partnerships with a wide variety of community groups, government departments, and fishing and aquaculture industries. Overall, Leigh is as comfortable running field projects as he is in the lab, or engaging national and international policy makers, or outreaching to local schools and communities.
