Anagenix announced winner of 2024 Cawthron Innovation Award

Anagenix Ltd has been announced as the 2024 winner of the Cawthron Innovation Award at the Natural Health Products New Zealand Industry Awards at the end of May.

Anagenix is a New Zealand-based ingredients company operating in the functional food and nutraceutical space. The 18-strong team works closely with New Zealand growers, suppliers, and research institutes to bring the best of our country’s horticulture and science to the world.

The Cawthron Innovation Award recognises outstanding innovation demonstrated in any facet of the entrant’s business, and Anagenix were crowned winner for their advancements in natural health solutions such as their prebiotic product Livaux. The judges applauded their thorough approach to innovation using Doblin’s Ten Types of Innovation framework, with clear objectives, clearly documented approach, measured results and key learnings.

Cawthron Institute Labs Manager Paul Parker commended Anagenix for their strong systematic approach to innovation to bring their clinical, science-proven natural health products to the world.

“Cawthron works closely with the food and natural product sector to support them to meet food safety, health claims and export requirements, and once again Anagenix has demonstrated their robust R&D and innovation processes which is essential to support health ingredient claims,” said Parker.

Natural Health Products New Zealand is the industry body for Aotearoa New Zealand’s natural health and complementary products sector, representing the industry’s interests locally and abroad. The Industry Awards are held annually to celebrate New Zealand’s natural health products sector.

Awards Head Judge Rod Claycomb, Natural Health Products NZ Director, said the industry has shown its strength and breadth of expertise through the quality of the applications. “It doesn’t make the judging easy, but it is impressive to know that the New Zealand natural health products industry is leading the way in innovation, marketing, growth and sustainability”.
