Role at Cawthron

Shaun works across the coastal and freshwater group with both technical and science staff providing technical support for a large range of instrumentation and equipment. Shaun also works with research programs providing electronics and mechanical design support for projects across Cawthron and in the aquaculture industry including developing cutting edge sensors and systems designed for the field environment. His skills range from electrical and electronic systems to mechanical design and fabrication.

  • Electronics system design and construction

  • CAD design for 3D printing and other rapid prototyping technologies
  • Microcontrollers and programming including C and python languages
  • Experienced with workshop equipment including general machining technologies, laser cutting and CNC machining
